Due to a propulsion issue affecting the ship’s maximum cruising speed, Carnival Pride will not be able to visit Gothenburg, Sweden as planned on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The problem arose on Tuesday evening when the ship was observed cruising at significantly reduced speeds and occasionally coming to a complete stop in the Baltic Sea.
Passengers currently on board the Carnival Pride’s 12-night European itinerary, departing from Dover, England, have been informed through a letter delivered to their cabins that the final port of call in Gothenburg, Sweden, will be skipped.
The letter states, “The ship has encountered an issue impacting its maximum cruising speed, and our engineers are actively working on a repair plan. Unfortunately, this means we will not be able to visit Gothenburg today. We understand the disappointment this brings, and we apologize for the unexpected change in plans.”
Any pre-purchased shore excursions, along with applicable taxes, fees, and port expenses for Gothenburg, will be refunded to guests’ Sail & Sign accounts.
Moreover, to compensate for the missed port of call, every stateroom will receive a $100 (USD) onboard credit. This credit can be used for onboard purchases
