Carnival Jubilee Parade Highlights Texas Star on Bow

At the German Shipyard, a ‘Texas Tailgate’ was held to mark the commencement of the next stage of construction for the ship.

The Carnival Cruise Line’s newest vessel, Carnival Jubilee, reached an important construction milestone as it was released from the covered dock at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, showing off an impressive Texas star on its bow. This decoration is a special nod to those who sail from Galveston.

The star on Carnival Jubilee’s bow serves as a reminder of our devotion to the Port of Galveston. Being the first cruise line to set sail from Galveston year-round, we have a strong connection to the area and our new vessel demonstrates our commitment to the city’s flourishing economy and to providing our customers with extraordinary experiences,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “I’m looking forward to Carnival Jubilee proudly exhibiting her Texas spirit this year.”

Hundreds of people came together at the shipyard to view the Carnival ship for the first time, and they had a Texas-style blast. Carnival partnered with PepsiCo to provide drinks and snacks for a tailgate-style celebration while the ship was floated out.

At present, Carnival Jubilee is advancing to the subsequent stage of its construction close to the shipyard’s outfitting pier. During the weekend, Carnival Jubilee will briefly detach from the pier to try out the bow thrusters and stabilisers. To finish off, the sea trials have been timetabled for November.

As part of the revolutionary Excel-class, Carnival’s latest cruise ship has been captivating guests who have experienced her sister vessels such as Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration with remarkable amenities, including the upgraded version of the first roller coaster at sea – BOLT: The Ultimate Seacoaster. The ship is equipped with six exhilarating zones, two of which have been adjusted to honor the ocean, and provide an abundance of food, drinks, and entertainment choices.

The Carnival Jubilee is set to begin year-round, Western Caribbean voyages from Galveston in December. The name is shared with a previous Carnival ship, which sailed from Galveston in 2002. However, this new vessel is much larger in size, offering four times the fun compared to the original.
